A couple of questions on my suspected bargin

I won a block and head off ebay the other day, and went to collect it today. I believed it was a standard bore mg metro block, however got it out the box at home and found it to have solid lower bearing shells. Im i right in suspecting its a turbo block?

also it has been lined, is it likely to have been factory lined as it has the wfm1024 stamp at the back of the engine which suggests its early, and without measuring looks like it has not been bored to 1380 as the centre bore looks too wide where the liner ends.

n/a blocks and turbo blocks exactly the same buddy. what is the WFM number on the front of the block ?

yes its a turbo block with the none groved mains plain btm shells

like rich says the Blocks are all the same its the turbo block which sports the mains diffrent caps

if its got liners as you say max bore size you can go is + 40

I was just curious as I have never seen a turbo block before, and the main bearings were all different. I put a piston ring in it earlier and it is at standard bore which is good.

the wfm1024 was at back, low down on the block.

yeah mine is wfm 1040 (if i recall)and i dont think the bores are sleeved in mine. possibly later turbo engine ? what numbers are on the crowns of the pistons ?
