I last used mine in 2002-ish... It was nice having the airwaves to ourselves back then, I imagine it is better now LOL!

So - is it illegal to use a hand-held CB mic whilst driving like it is a mobile?

yes but everyone is on SSB these days, its all those europeans you know

I found the same as you where i live, I bought a pre amp and burner to try and get some one in my area, still no luck.

It is handy though when traveling to events or while at events as there will be other 'Mini' users. Whether they are the sort of people you wish to talk to is a different matter, most are from TMF or MF

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Dave I have it from Dogrough of Manchester Minis, who is a member of the local constabulary, that hand held CB mic is not ilegal to use as it can only transmit or receive , not both together. The police can however get you with other laws such as not in full control of the vehicle.

I will also tell you that OFCOM dropped the CB licencing, if you ever bothered to register in the first place*wink*
