Finally got heat shields sorted. Made from 1.2mm stainless steel. They are natural not polished or grained finish. They bolt on to the plenum & carb/manifold.
These are for those running carbs without the float chamber spacer. People with spacers, they shall be available soon, once I've sorted my own metro out. First one will be free to anyone running the spacer in a mini to check clearances etc.
£9 inc postage to TM

cheers mini13. Had a bulkhead heat shield on my metro, gets damned hot! On another post nogin said about stainless....which in all honesty, I never thought of and I hold my hands up...sort of dismissed the idea at first.

Why doesn't it look like the original - ie two big holes instead of two small rectangular cut-outs?
I guess it's a manufacturing reason?

Ah - so this mounts to the bottom of the carb - using the two studs in the intake?

If so - this is a good idea as it eliminates the need to locate the correct mounting plate (the bit that the choke and accelerator cables also moutn to)...

Yep it locates on the 2 lower carb>manifold bolts. Just seemed obvious place to put them for extra support. Left enough room to get a spanner in, hence the low sides. *wink*
