Hi
Been busy today with my plenum.
Managed to adapt it at uni using the Tig, Steve helped me tho:$

But just realised i have placed the DV pipe far too high!
Left it long enough to chop off when i get a DV.
Oh well i'll just have to rake the bonnet up the back*smiley*

what do you think? considering i paid nowt.

Also turned an ally centre cap for my new moto-lita wheel.

Cheers
Chris

Ahhh free, my favorite price LOL.

Tigging looks good:) just remember to keep everything clean, and always do welding in one hit rather than leave it over night.

Ally builds up an oxide layer, I read some where that the max time you should leave a peice of ally between cleaing it and welding it is about 8-12 hours,

If your anything like me you weld one bit to another and find you've then made a a part that is impossible to clean

and by clean i mean brush with a stainless wire brush.

also while i think of it I read the mealting point of ally is 600 odd degrees and the melting point of the oxide layer is over 2000 and also the oxide layer is similar in make up to saphire...?

I like nice quiet girly Minis

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

cut the pipe as short as possible and use a 45 or 90 degree bend hose to join the DV to the pipe, angled correctly you'll get it under the bonnet!

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

Been awhile since collage (I meant college *wink* ), but thats why ally welding is done with AC. It breaks up the oxide surface. :)
You can weld it & leave it, and weld again without cleaning
