Had my first trip across to the eiffel forest at the weekend to the legendary nurburgring...

we went across in a small convoy of 4 cars & 8 people, comprising of 3.2 911, honda s2000, bmw cooper s, and s2 lotus elise

Left 4am saturday morning from newark, and managed to get there around 4.30pm, just in time to see Nick Heidfeld take his F1 car round the GP circuit plus the north loop

After leaving the GP circuit, we managed to track down the entrance to the Nordschleife circuit, where we were welcomed by a ridiculous array of awesome cars, and the toll booths were soon opened up after Heidfeld did his lap. After a bit of spectating we made our way to find the hotel

Next morning, we got to the ring, and drivers of the cars promptly bought their lap tickets. I then got 2 laps as a passenger in my mates 911, and 2 in my mates elise.

I'm sure those that have been before will back me up, the whole experience is just crazy, words really can't describe it.

I sneaked a bit of camera footage in here and there, which needs editing before hosting anywhere

The whole day just flew by, there were a few minor incidents here and there, with track closure being limited to only about an hour. The police only needed to investigate 1 of several crashes (it is public road after all!)

Then on the Monday, we managed to squeeze a flying visit to Spa, we couldn't really see a great deal going on, apart from a load of re-building work, but was nice to check-in nonetheless

All in over the 3 days we clocked up around 1200 miles

Can definitely recommend the trip, I for one will definitely be heading back there next year..

It is awesome m8. Place I stayed at (check posts) there was noble & ferrari owners. They got that bird that drove the jag around Nurburgring on top gear to take them round in their cars. Only about 30 euros I think. Damned magic! She was a complete nutnut apparently! I saw the scratch marks on the front of the cars!
Takes some balls to do that track!!!!!
Good view from Nurburg castle. Tucked out the way the entrance innit dan!
Bet that was bliss hearing an F1 car around it!
You want to check out that Derek Bell in a le mans car vid.....about 61/2 minute lap!

We stayed at camping am nurburgring, was dirt cheap and about 5 mins away from the ring.

And by the way its all about konig ludwig weissbeir (the "hell" variety *laughing* )

No its all about the aldi beer.

1.99 euros for six and if you return the bottles you get 1.50 euros back meaning that your next pack is just 0.49 euros.

or 30 p in proper money.

those crazy germans.

I went through Luxenburg, battle of the bulge country on the way back. Well worth doing for scenery.

oh hell yeh that motorway is awful. Then the way we go you hit what we refer to as "the road to hell" possibly the bumpiest road in the world, potholes everywhere. Then litterally all of a sudden it goes beautifully smooth to signal you have entered germany *laughing*
