Thats a new one on me, is the oil in the box not supposed to lubricate the bores and small end by splashing it all over. 133.5 bhp 123 lb torque 116mph @6640rpm 9.5psi

I wouldn't buy or sell anything with this guy either, he won a gearbox from me I contacted him for a month constantly with no success, I then had to relist, he's a timewaster.

Would that stop the oil sloshing to one side when cornering? so help keeping the pickup pipe in oil or something? whats the real reason for it what would it achieve? Previous Engine: 1040cc Morespeed engine, 1275 turbo head T2 Turbo Mirage Manifolds Megajolt

its to stop the oil that the box throws up before it hits the crank. |

the crank, spinning at 15-110 times a second, produces a mist in the crankcase which more than provides enough oil to lube the bores and the little ends.
I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

lol, well spotted, any way IMO a splash guard iwll stop oil getting to the cam shaft and that's bad news. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

How does that work on inline engines then? On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

mine too, but many do not. I still dont think its a major problem as you will get oil down from the followers and such. The inline engines do not have this oil splash from the box anyway. |

TBH i think the cam gets enough oil thrown on it from the crank, especially in our lowish rpm application, for somone like Fastcarl then something extra may well be needed. IMO I don't like the idea of unfiltered oil being thrown onto the cam, and i have heard it said inline cam's and followers live longer and tend not to exhibit the "pitting" often seen on the transverse cams, fair enough this probably has more than a little to do with oil change frequency if it is true.
