I am currently waiting for my fitting to arrive for my oil return, so this eve, determind to get on after a long while of having no free time I started tinkering with my coolant feed and return for the turbo.
I have used the unions that came with the turbo (off an R5GTT) and made the pipes out of half inch refrigeration grade copper, the unions will be brazed on using high content silver solder.
Just after a few thoughts really, mainly with regard to where I have the water supply comming under the turbo, as can be seen in one of the pictures one of the pipes (formed from one length) has a large return bend in due to not being able to put the set that was needed to clear the turbo any closer to the bend, I preffere this one to the other where I have used 90o fittings to try and eliminate this, my concern is with one piece supply pipe that has the large loop in my cause me clearance issues with the suframe.
Cheers.
Shane.

A few bends in it wouldnt bother me in the slightest.

Having pipes routed so that air locks could be created would be more of a worry.

202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Looks a nice job mate, as long as the solder will take the heat.

I wouldnt worry about an air lock in the loop, mine has a much bigger loop and is fine

Unfortunatly that is as tight as I could get the bend due to the benders I have, with the thought of an air lock in mind I was thinking I would use that pipe as a feed, I dont like the look of the one which I have used fittings, I know its not going to be visable tho. Im just being picky! (as usual) With regards to the one which I have bent, how close do you think it will be to the subframe? Do you think I will also have any worries where I have ended the pipes (near crankcase breather)? I know one of them is close to the exhaust manifold?
Thanks as always!
Shane.

I would have sorted them on the compressor side , they 'll don't like the turbine hsg temp.

Fair comment fab, I put them the side i have as there was a little more room, and would make the way I wanted to plumb the turbo in asthetically pleasing. plus I was concerned I would foul the boost pipework.
