Has anyone else had a problems with mk1 number plate lamps rusting?

I bought mine a few months back from Somerford mini spares and its already rusty! Ive only driven the car 3 times since its been fitted and the the first time its got wet (in Newquay) its left rust marks down my boot.

Fortunately the marks have washed off but im still left with a rusty light! Ive spoken to Somerford and they said to send the whole light assembly back and they'll investigate and go from there.

Its a genuine Rover light, but if its a common problem im tempted to go for a cheapo plastic one!

thats because you bought crap quality , it may have been the only one available at the time at that price but it was still poor , bounce it back .
