I have tried connecting the carb to the pressure regulator, and the only way I could get fuel comming out of only the jet only, was to plumb it in like the picture, will this be fine to use just to get the engine running?

what is likely to be causing it? and shall I just connect the balance pipe from the carb to the regulator to the connection on the top, next to the mounting holes.

Thanks

I have now blocked numbers 3 and 4 off individually as per this thread.

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=vt&tid=6298

the leaking occured when I connected it up the same as the picture at the top of this thread.

Also I apologise for the state of the garage in that picture, It looks far worse then it is.

thats connected correctly...

its a little confusing as the run-on (or whatever it is :p) is blocked off with a bolt in the end of it.

if you look closely you'll see *smiley*

you seem to have left the engine out?

More seriously - I'd orient the regulator correctly for a start. And the Carb.

And if you have fuel coming out of the jet - something is WRONG.

also your float will be flapping about and not correct if the carb's not at the right angle...

Are you trying to set the fuel pressure by guess? If so look on ebay as there are plenty of v. cheap pressure gauges to allow you to set it up properly, heres one for example, £1.99 plus post, ask them to supply it with a screw on hose tail for 8mm pipe, jobs a goodun,

To start, the reason it is off the car is because when I turned the pump on in the first place the hole at the back of the carb squirted a lot of fuel into the plenum and I feared some had made it into a cylinder, luckily none did

so I removed the whole assembly and decided it would be better to try to address the leak off the engine so avoid another potential serious inconveniance, clearly that was a mistake and I will now reconnect everything.

when mounted on the engine everything was as it should be, the clutch housing was off because I had just torqued the centre bolt up correctly and it was convenient to connect the fuel pump to to keep it flat.

Now I have found the reason for the fuel escaping what should be done about this hole, or should no fuel be finding its way into that passage?

no fuel leaks if i stick my thumb over the hole, I have also checked a normal non turbo gasget between the plenum and carb and it does not have the extra hole (probably because it is non turbo)

Also I have just bought a pressure guage off ebay

sorry for the misunderstanding

If fuel is coming out of there then either your float height is incorrect or the needle valve into the float chamber is u/s.

Carb looks like it's been buried for 10 year I'd think about a rebuild for it!

didn't need to visit burlen, I took it apart and found the float wasn't floating. It got a good clean and reassembling. fuel is where it should be now.

Now I Just need the battery to finish charging and the engine should fire into life...
