Got all the Metro back together.

Thought I'd checked over everything.

Took it up the road for a test drive up the road to bed in my brake pads and test my rebuild box.

Brakes good and box like new, lovely close and tight "H" and no crunching, top job by Simon at Morspeed.

On giving it a little "tonk" back down the road it cam on boost @ 3500ish and WHAM!!...It went like stink, lighting up up the front wheels and leaving a massive black "11" in the road behind. I back off imediatly as it is never that powerful.

Turned out I had not connected the actuator pipe and the actuator end, easy to miss as it is hidden from view.

So the T3 on a 6 psi actutor gave the engine all it had to give!

Checked everything over including a compression test and all is good.

Won't be doing that in a hurry!

i take it you didn't see what you got up to on the boost gauge?

Ooops!

One of the reasons I have retained the overboost blow off valve in my plenum, apart from placing a threaded adjusted in to change the preload on the spring.
