can someone help me get it running again?

My metro turbo stopped running a while ago. Its got spark and fuel. It turns over still but doesn't seem to want to fire. It was running but I took the carb off because the person who helped me with the car took it apart (then I was told that he shouldnt have because its sealed etc.) so i put a diff carb on and it hasn't run since. I have tried using the orignal carb again but it doesn't start with that one either now.

What should I try to get it running again or is there anyone who is clued up who would be willing to get it running again? cheers

Hey mate,

if you put your location you might get lucky and get an offer of someone to have a look at it.

Rebuild kits are available for turbo carbs, fom avonbar and burlen fuel systems and probably a couple of others.

just to clarify it was running ok with the original carb?

why did the carb get taken apart?

I think i should have put the thread in the help needed section opps...

Im from chepstow which is the other side of the severn bridge to bristol.

He took it apart to make it shinier or something and yes it was running fine

the carbs can be taken apart and rebuilt fairly easily.

If thats all that has been removed since it was last running ok then i'd go with that. although things do degrade over time.

If not then it could be a long list of annoyingly difficult things to pinpoint. plenty of helpful folks around bristol mind

so shall I get a carb rebuild kit. Rebuild it and then go from there?

Sounds a good plan to me, look in How To section for a guide.
