I'm wondering if i will get away with mounting the IC so far out in front, will i get pulled over for having something protruding from the front?

Has anyone else had any problems or mounted their IC in a similar fashion?

any comments/suggestions are welcome

is this what your looking for chappers??

nothing wrong with that location. Not exactly descrete, buit it's direct in the air flow which is what you want.

I think there should be space to get that under the bonnet, it's not that big.

I'm sure it'll be ok where you are holding it, but it will look a bit crap.

You need a particularly beautiful IC to look good hanging out the front.

sorry for the tj; Jim, i know that was a fair while ago, but i really like the 'cooler piping. Did you make those?

As for intercooler location, buy a 2wd cossie one and fit it on the slam panel. Worked a treat for tim, jon, alexb, matty, benross and many others.

Nics is in a similar location to that, and a guess from his 2n'd at avon his must work OK *wink*

personally i think that a cooler just stuck on the front isn't making the maximum use of the core, ie the air has to go thru it to cool it,

I may be wrong but i suspect that a cooler behind or in the grille with some form of duct to it, and perhaps from it will work better.

for reference here is my cooler hopfully it will work well when it finally see's some boost*laughing*

that intercooler piping was stainless and weighed a ton!!! I cut and tacked them, but got someone else to tig them for me.

First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

in theory if you have a slightly smaller opening to the size of the grill the air will pass through it instead of going around

its not the ideal place for letting air flow though it as it will hit the block too

This is a lancia delta intercooler:
