I know the diff casing is matched to the gearbox casing bit how much of a problem is it to interchange these? Is it a deffinate no-no or can it be done with extra work?

You can get them machined but would probably cheaper to source another complete gearbox casing.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Near Daventry, midlands

i have seen them matched before, but its by no means an easy or ideal job. You need a good selection of diff sections to get it close to being right.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

You dont need a slidehammer. Just do exactly as it says in Haynes.

I seriously doubt it!

I know it sounds odd but can I have the old casing and the damaged diff housing?
