I am going to order some deep dish minilites as they are the only style I like now ultralite have changed their design.

The offset on them is et 7

How is it likely to handle on these, and will it foul any suspension components?

thanks

I agree with Robert (who suggested ET22 - ET20??? .. lol) and fab.

To answer your orginal question ... it'll handle like a freshly greased pig balancing on a jelly!!! Probably clear all the suspension but likely to need lots taken out of the front wings and probably a lock stop to prevent the inside edge hitting the front bulkhead on full lock .... instant MOT failure.

Candice's car is going on 12s, 5" with 145/70/12 winter tyres and 5.5" with 165/60/12s for grippy situations

IMHO I would suggest you think about 13x6 ET22 with 175/50/13 Conti Contact Sports (since the bridgestones are no longer available) as all rounders or if you are only ever going to use it in the dry when the grip is up some a048s as fab suggests.

Any of the 6" wheels will be happiest run with around 1 - 1.5deg negative camber (true negative not just 1.5 fixed arms) and depending on your driving style between 4.5 and 6.5 deg of castor. Run the car with front driveshafts level and the rear about 20mm higher (use around 0.5deg neg camber on the back), all toe angles standard. Mix this with a good shock (KYB gas-adjusts are a great compromise for the road) and the car will be awesome.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

I am tempted to go for 13's but really need the tyre wall depth for some cushioning as most of my driving is around crap surfaced country roads and lanes.

I must say I currently have an offset of et 19 on my 5 by 12 ultralites and it does handle well, they need new tyres and re laquering though. the main reason for replacement is I always think it looks over arched if that makes sense and would like some wheels that fill the arches perfectly.

I shall find the offset for the normal 6 by 12's and see where that goes.
