hi all
just starting to assemble bits for my project, got a brand new morespeed stage 3 head and 1293 block, straight cut gearbox t2 turbo and mirage etc going to be running 10-12 psi of boost , been told standard rockers and push rods are ok, is this correct
this is going to be a road car, does 120-130 bhp sound about right?
not sure of valve sizes (i,m at work)
any help or advice would be much apprieciated , i know F*** all about a-series turbo`s
cheers
steve

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Standard rockers and pushrods in good condition will be fine. With that head, a decent cam, intercooler and a decent build up you should get around the 130hp mark on your proposed boost.

Phil. :)

I'd change it Steve, after spending all that money on an engine and 'box i would change it for sure...Minispares seems to be the favourite choice. *wink*

i use the avonbar ph2 personally but a lot of people have said how good the MG metro n/a cam is, i'd go with it if you've already got one and use the 壣 saved for an x pin diff.

MG Metro cam is going to give you a bit less in the power department than a phase2 but will drive nicely, which to my mind for a road engine is far more important.

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...

hi steve

mg N/A cam superb! but if you can stretch your budget a shade
cheap as chips, kent 266 cam and will produce the Dragon!

the valve sizes you have in a standard motor will be 33mm inlets and 29.5 exhausts superb for power outputs around 130 ish......*smiley*...... in my book others may disagree ?

the drop gears firstley, are you weakist link, followed by the diff

its the minisprares ..x pin diff you need and nothing less!! *wink*

this has been covered "many" ! times

theres loads more to tuning a well powerd CHAV! killing motor cutting corners

please use the search button *smiley*

inorder ...... drop gears, diff, head, elbow modd, exhaust, mod,.... this is just a start for you ..........hope this helps *smiley*

As an approx guesstimate I would say your looking around 8.8:1.

My CR is 8.3:1 using 12cc +0.20" pistons, 28cc head bk450 gasket.

You would have to assemble and measure other factors like deck height, determine gasket volume aswell to get an accurate figure. This is also assuming your stroke is standard. *wink*

rspsteve .... may I suggest that you do a search on here and do a bit of reading.

At least you will get some reliable information on here unlike some other forums out there .....

I'd also measure your head to check the cc's are what you think. Mistakes have been made in the past.
