I've been considering having ago at respraying my car myself with my Dad who has some experience of respraying. I've been in touch with a Company called carpaint.co.uk and they have given me a estimate on the paints that i will need.

Does this seem like a fair price or are they estimating me too much paint or is it OK?

5 Litres Mini Green Pearl Metallic 1K RWV - £120.00
4 Litres Lacquer 1K - £40.00
1Litre White RWV® 1K - £32.00
5 Litres High Build Primer 1K - £40.00
5 Litres Standard Thinners 1K - £8.00
5 Litres Premium Thinners 1K - £10.00
5 Litres Panel Wipe 1K - £9.00
Box of ten tac cloths - £4.00
2 sheets of each grade wet n dry 1000 1200 1500 2000 - £4.00

Total - £267

Cheers,
Shaun.

Seems reasonable, you can spray a car with less, I probably wouldn't use that my primer that said when I sprayed the MG I ran out of primer half way through the car and had to do a made run to get some more.

The only other thing I'd question is the amount of wet & dry, unless the sheets are massive you'll probably need a little more than 2 sheets of each grade.

Would of thought you need half the amount of paint. Don't forget, with thinners/hardener it will double up the paint anyway. I use 600/800 grit for primer. Need plenty of 1500/2000 for those odd runs & between top coats *wink*

mind i went to buy some paint tuther day and was told to fek off, unless you are a registered business they will not sell 2pac or cellulose paint to you, you got to have an approved oven now :(:(;( and to make sure you order the paint and they deliver it to you.
