i'm just popping out to get some engine paint to do the block & head on my engine, what type shall i get, i know a few hotrod v8 chaps that just use 2pak, or is proper engine enamal the stuff to use what shall i get?

Hammerite Smoothrite does the job for me.

1st choice is matt/satin yellow if not i dont know what to go for colour wise, green maybe! hmmmm not a fan of black & the car is red so dont want to do it red

no, no, no you want a Mint Sunrise. I think Hammerite do this shade (I use Hammerite smooth btw) It does sometimes discolour at high temperatures though. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

Sorry slight thread jack. My metro engine paint has been preserved in oil and was wondering whether I should repaint it blue to go with the shell, or keep it original red as there are sod all original red engines about that don't need a paint? On 7th Oct, 2010 5haneJ said:

I use crown gloss usually, (as been said above good range of colours) had no probs with it, but my turbo motor is painted in bmc green, which I got from somerfords.
