FG or CF

Hi all,
Im going flip fronted in around 3 weeks, and was just wondering which front anyone would recoommend, I want the car to look as standard as possible, so the finish has to be as smooth as poss too. I saw someones car on here before that ahas a painted cf front but the weave pattern was visible, is this the same for all cf fronts? BTW I only fancy CF so it is less wibbly wobbly, but open to FG too,

FG isn't that wobbly, yes CF is a bit stronger but there's not much in it. certainly where the front end of a mini is concerned.

I see, what about the smoothness? is there a company that produces particularly good 2 piece fronts?

I've got an ABS front for my Clubman and I'm quite please with it.

If its the best finish your after then making one out of steel panels is probably your best bet.

the wibbly wobbly effect is all down to how much you prep it, lots of flatting, primer, flatting, more priming, flatting, more priming etc....

nic missed out the high build primer and flatting .... lol .... seriously getting a good finish on GRP, even quality panels like the ABS ones (IMHO the best there is at the moment ... apart from maybe the Curley stuff)

It is really, really, really difficult to paint CF and leave an even amount of weave showing across the whole panel .... not the norm' ... more like a master piece!!!
