Hi there, I've already brought all the taps etc for fitting 8mm banjo bolts and fittings as piston cooling jets.

I've only now read somewhere that the zetech sprayers have a pressure valve in them. I’m worried that if using the banjo bolts, I might not get enough oil flow to the mains etc on idle.

On TurboDave's website there was a pic of a homemade oil sprayer with a 0.7mm jet, but now I'm worried I might be creating more of a problem than something to improve reliability.

Thanx

well, the safe option would be to simply buy the zetec ones?

I supose it would, but I already have the parts to use the banjo's.

The only thing that bothers me is that there arn't any pressure valves in the banjo's, and that this could create problems

They also seemed a better aplication as there is only one hole to drill per jet.

Im going Zetec route, why re-invent the wheel. *laughing*

I think there only a few quid for the Zetec ones anyway...alot cheaper than a new engine. *wink*

I would think it would drop a little, as your releasing pressure through the jets!

I assume the Zetec ones are used as they have small enough orifice to still retain a good pressure, and they look easy enough to fit.

Would be interesting to know what the drop is though, maybe someone thats fitted them could enlighten? :)

I've not noticed any measurable drop in oil pressure after fitting the jets

I just want to know if I will get problems from using the banjo's?

If I were to get the zetec jets locally, they wanted to charge equivalent to around 20 pounds a jet.

Thanx Greg
