I was browsing in Smiths, when I saw this car, I noticed that it was turbo charged, from Norway, and had some form of injection (bottom left of main photo). That'll be a good read I thought.

But it was a rubbish read. the article mentions that it has a KKK K27 turbo (see attached Map), 200 bhp and it's from Norway.

I'd be interested to know more about the car if any one knows (especially from our friendly resident Norwegians).

Built by Brede Alnes of TS Racing.

It's in mini Magazine. The original owner was Scottish or something?

It is a MPI running Autronic injection. I dont realy know much about this car. I have been reading about it in another magazine, but the article was rubbish :(

btw, in the other article it was claiming ca. 250 hp.....

I wish mags would get facts and figs right as well as a nice story for the readers as well as the owner, I do understand that a good story is hard some times, IE, someone may have just bought the car or owned it a while but never worked on it ect, ect. It just gets embarrassing for all when its not right. When i do a write up (heaven forbid) i always pass it onto the owner to make sure it's ok and get them to sort out any errors before sending it on to the mags.
vegar, I won't tell you my new claim then.

Bloo-y hell he is made with a STD box and diff, my diff when standard would only last a month or 2, and that was with power way under 200 mark.

forgot to add very impressive of him to get it running well with that sort of set up!

I know he got a lot of power in that car, but I dont like the "ca 250 hp" *wink* As mentioned, the man is working for TS Racing (you may have seen TS's pink Audi 1.8T Estate a couple of years ago) so I know the man knows his way around a turbo :)

Have heard of mini cyclinder heads being modifyed having 4 inlet ports by halfing the original two, by the looks of the inlet manifold could this be what the man has done, but may produce a more torquey engine. Would like to see it as it looks a nice tidy car

its a normal 5 port head. Its just the inlet that is Y shaped.its the most racey turbohead from avonbar if I remember correctly.

I have more info on this now.

The HP claims is not a good move I think... He is complaining about some clutch slip, and I checked the car out (the guy still uses a verto clutch... The best verto clutch he could get from avonbar he told me). still on std box too. It goes well, but since it is at all possible to use a verto it cant have too much poke right?

some pictures I took of the inlet and such at IMM:

Maybe someone who know their way around it could check how the KKK-K07 turbo map fits a mini with a 1293 engine? (I suspect its the map above)

Not keen on the wasted space infront of the inlet and behind the rocker cover.

Very clever idea though, something for me to think about a little more *tongue*
