I'm thinking of making and fitting my own unleaded seats. It will cost a bit to tool up but I've got several heads to do.

I THINK my (and Vegards) machinist uses old camshafts as valveseats?! You can also get them from the Rover parts dealers I think. Edited by miniminor63 on 18th Jun, 2007. |

So what material are the cams? Minispares do sell the inserts at about £6 each, but only have the 29mm ones in stock at the moment. how bout nipping off down the scrappy ,and getting a alloy head with the inserts you want and sticking it in the oven till they fall out , and if they are in there too tight hack them out with a disc ??

IIRC my pet machinist told me once that alloy vs. iron heads use different material for inserts. |
