Aberdeenshire, scotland.

Fitted a set of these today.

Oh my god! What a pain in the ass! Spent ages trying to drop the engine onto them level and had no luck. kept getting one in and not the other. And this is with the subby on my garage floor! Finally got them in by getting one in and unbolting the other side and doing it that way.

never going to fit these to a mini again. Grrrr. Took ages. Looks kinda funky tho if you like that sorta thing.

You think they are a pain when you put the engine in, just wait till you have to take it out. I ended up taking a hacksaw to one of mine.

I've used them a few times, and I found them ok, although it's a good idea to weld a big washer to the pin on them to be able to remove the pin easier

the secret is not to use the original bolt on the bottom of the 'engine' part of the mount, the original fouls the mating part.

Use a button head socket bolt and they work a treat.

jimster, thats a decent idea as they are tricky to remove without a mole grips.

Ahhhh. That would make life much easier as i noticed it was catching on the bolt when we were trying to put it in.

Why are the difficult to remove?? Do the two segments bond together as i am just building up my subby.

Yep I fed mine to the bin monster,

They were quite handy as i had to take the lump in and out a couple of times to check some clearances, and were probably worth the tenner i paid for that alone.

shite apart from that though.

exactly what ive done, i love mine! had the engine out 3 times so much easier now with no messing about. Also, trimmed a tiny bit of the raised up bit ,just the corners, to make it smooth so it slots in easy.

Definately recommend them with a decent bottom bolt

Just usin std items with captive nuts work well and should be better than the old worn items, was told to stay away from solid mounts
