Ok my mini seems to be a bit dodgy at the moment. Ok i only have the carb on at the mo (running engine in) it seems to idle ok but when i go to drive it it seems to backfire through the carb am sure the timing is correct its about 10 degrees maybe need to make it slightly richer as it seem to get out at top end or higher revs |

Shouldnt make any difference what pipes you are using. if you have the fuel pressure set at 4.5psi then it will run fine. im currently running an mg metro engine on the turbo fuel system and it goes fine.

Cheers iain. Anyway had another look i think there must be a problem with the head, fuel pressure is sound, had to advance the timing to over 14 degress to stop it backfiring but then it became sluggish when i go to take off, its back then when i change gear but then kicks in again and runs fine until if i rev her slowly at idle she seems to be fine but put the foot down it dies then comes up |
