I realise that the mainshaft in PRE A+ gearboxs is 14mm where it is 18mm in the A+

So when you put the 14mm in the A+ box, youll need the PRE A+ 1st moton bearing for it...

And the rest is just a straight swap?

Thanks

Joe

Yes mate, I have fitted pre A+ to A+ cases no probs. I believe you can put any set in any case.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

for turbo use you'll better keep the 18mm shaft/bearing (your A gears will go on) and buy a pre a+ 18mm first motion.

Have a go at fitting an A+ layshaft in an A box, and you'll be surprised *wink*

Everything A 4-sync wil easilty fit in an A+ box, but obviously, use the bits that fit eachother as well.

Lazy chap here. I picked up a set of 4 synchro SC gears (new) and I'm not sure if they are A+ or A, how do I quickly tell. I havent stripped the A+ box yet to compare and my other A+ bits are buried somewhere.

Cheers, stu

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

They are A+ ones if it have the longer mainshaft and 18mm roller bearing in the input gear shaft.
Then if it is the shorter mainshaft and 14mm roller B it's a pré A+ one.
