i just painted my exhaust manifold with some black enamel rated for temps up to 450 degrees. i also painted the little piece that attaches to the exhaust outlet in the same stuff,
sounds like a stupid question but will this paint be o.k on a turbo exahust? its obviously much hotter especially on the way out of the turbo than n/a
so is 450 degrees up to the job??
cheers

probably not...

you'll get 400-900 degrees C

It all depends how much boost you run, what your under bonnet cooling is like and who hot the day is!

should have asked before, not after i did it!!
i'll just use it on the block when its been cleaned then. i am thinking black with a skull and crossbones on the front would look cool!

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

dont worry about the paint, it will burn off fine. No point cleaning it!

Hey captian iglo, there is stuff such as aluminium based coating in a spray can that can handle up to 1100?C. i have succesfully used this on many exhaust systems. it stays on for long !!
