I have recently put some 10" wheels on my mini and it seems to be near enough touching the bump stops now, it is not lowered too much compared to standard and is on new cones. When the 12" wheels were on i didnt seem to have this problem.

Since putting the 10" wheels on there seems to be a banging noise coming from the front of the car, it does it when driving and alot when braking but at times does it when sat at idle. Could this be the top arm hitting the bump stop causing the noise?

Also for those of you on 10" wheels what type of bump stops are you using and have you done anything to them for extra clearence?

Thanks

Mine used to make a banging noise occasionally when I hit really big pot holes etc, Im guessing it was the top arm hitting the subframe. Ive raised it since and it doesn't do it anymore.

When you say it does it "sat at idle" I guess you mean when stationary? If so I can't see it being the top arm touching the subframe as there would be nothing forcing it upwards?

Yeah when sat stationary, its the only thing i can see which is close enough to make the noise.

Right solved.... the noise at idle (which sounds almost exactly the same) is coming from the dash area so need to find that.

The noise when moving was a bloody weight hitting my new alloy caliper... checked the passenger side with two weights (one on top of the other) on the inside and it cleared so thought it would be fine... what we didnt check was the weights on the outside of the wheel (engine side)was catching the caliper. :( Not a happy bunny but im happy as its fixed.
