Kent/Surrey Borders

you can buy the kits anywhere ... I got mine from Avon Bar

- I used Solid Tower mounts ( like big aluminium polos !!)
- Solid bottom mounts (same as standard ones but just made of metal !!)
- Poly Teardrops (i dont think these neccesaryly need to be metal the subframe is really held in place by the towers and bottom mounts

Steve

PS takes a couple of hours to do and you will need a mate to help pulling the subframe back and forth to get it all to line up

PPS word of advice dont fully tighten anything until everything is in its place and ready to do up !

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

other trick is to bolt the back edge of the subby to the bulkhead via bolts and a packing piece between.

I never bother, always have old cars with Twin bolt solid mounted subbys instead *smiley*

Nope, i dont believe it is essential at all. Just gives better and more precise handling but increased road noise and vibration. Not that its a lot different but there is an increase. Depends the reason your building the car, mines purely for flat out driving not cruising so i need accuracey not comfort *smiley*

I'd say it is essential...

Its worth doing to ANY mini!

The handeling is worth the price.

Just open your bonnet and wind down the wondow... while looking at the engine bay rock the steering wheel and see the whole engine and subby move :o

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

You don't have to use the solid mounts if you don't want, you can use the upgraded ones, like "Deflex" etc these are a harder compound material but are not totally solid.

I use poly bushes - they have made a world of difference over standard... How do these compare to solid metal?
