Just fitting all this lot up today.

got the quadrants on dead easy without taking anything to bits.

the levers for the handbrake however wont go through the back plate. what i want to know is do i bend the upper and lower tabs in or out to get it through, or do i file them down a bit?

I'm guessing they bend so you can get a good fit but wasnt sure.

Other than that seems to be going ok.

Only issue is the handbrake will be further back due to my gear lever being in the way and i need to think of some way to shorten the cable or find a shorter one.

cheers
Iain

instead of a cable use a bit of threaded stud cut to the correct lenth with some nuts on either end

Tabs usually stick out at 90 degrees to backplate for rubber boot to sit on. I'd guess on yours they've been bent flush with the backplate out of the way.
TBH just cut the fuckers off, I doubt you will do enough road miles to worry about the rubber boot being there.

Ah i see, i'll bend them out, bought the rubbers now! lol!

save a stone or something going in!!

not a bad idea about the studding either, although most studding is made of chocolate!

Then just need to bodge up some cable guides as mine arent on the edge of the subby.

if the cable guides are already missing from the subby, how about getting another pair of quadrants and having movable ones?

that might do the trick!

one side of the handbrake setup is all sorted now, doing the other side tomorrow hopefully then i'll worry about actually being able to push it! lol!

Dropped a small bollock, left the rear shoes out and put it in the garage, hit the brakes... doh! fluid on the floor. atleast its only the rear circuit as it has seperate front and rear master cylinders. another job to do though *frown*

Its been an afternoon of modding as nothing is standard, Rear aRB was in the way of the lever so i;ve had to kick those down a bit.
