The other side of the pedal should be a split pin holding the clevis pin in.

TBH they are a right pain in the arse..

Nah its just a flat bit on the other side! Its annoying because i cant get the grinder in there lol, would make it so much easier!!

I dont want to have to take the pedal box out! I cant see how this bastards supposed to come out.

Actually now you say that I think my bro's auto was like that, but mine wasn't?

You should be able to get one of them ball shaped grinder attachments for a drill in there or dremol (sp?).

Failling that a file would definitely get in there, a bit long winded I know...

Its catch 22, you can't take the pedal box out without disconnecting the pedals first as the connecting rods going to the slave cylinders go through the bulk head!!

On reassembly use a clevis pin and split pin. I have usd R clips before but they do have a tendancy to work loose...not good if its on the brake pedal!

Yep, that end is blind rivetted to the brake pedal. If you do manage to get the pin out you will then find that it is a different size to the standard clevis pin arrangement.

Why do you need to disconnect it? I wouldn't - not if you want to use it again!!

The only reason i want it off is because im converting to non-servo.

I understand that i need to take this rod off from the top of the pedal because the yellow band type master cylinder replaces this rod with its pushrod into the master cylinder itself!

Ah, well you will be opening a can of worms!!
The hole that will remain through the pedal will be too large for the clevis pin needed for the yellow master cylinder. There is a nylon bush but the bore of that will be too small and if you drill it out there will be very little of it left!

Best bet would be to remove the pedal shaft and replace the brake pedal itself with the correct, non servo type available from you local friendly on-line auction site (or a wanted ad)!

I remember having to this when converting from an auto pedal box to a manual pedal box...its coming back to me now...Lol

I remember having to drill the pedal out as the bore was too small, this was using a mk4 servo and a mk3 non servo pedal.

Im sure you could drill the pedal out a couple of mm, fit a larger bush then there would be enough nylon left when the correct size hole is drilled!

Hmm im confused, will the yellow band master cylinder hole be bigger than the hole in the pedal or the other way round?

And cant the nylon bush be removed from the pedal and give enough space for a clevis pin?

An easier way - any of you lot got a spare non servo pedal box lol

either stick with the better servo system or change the pedal box and master cylinder to the inferior old type.

i cant see any reason to change but each to there own.
