hi

iv just changed my engine from a 998 to a 1275.
on the 998 i had the older type of starter motor.
on the 1275 (standerd mg metro lump) its the newer type.

now do i need to do anything to the wiering or is it a matter of wiring it up the same as it was with the older style starter??

cheers

Working up the BHP ladder.

You will need to link the 2 heavy cables together. So they bypass the original solenoid (make sure there well insulated). Then take the thinner 'start' wire (pokes out the side of the solenoid on a spade terminal), and extend it down to the new starter solenoid. Simple *happy*

the std relief valve is around 40-45psi.

stick a couple of washers befind the spring.

I'ts worth back priming the pump and giving the relief valve a good clean, you might find the oil press reapears,

failing that just run it? i've got a good 6 months out of an engine with almost nil oil pressure before.
