Well i'm finally getting to post some pic's of the car i'm working on at the mo!!!

Where to begin............well this is my car that i finished for the riv run this year!



It is now a 1275 metro turbo in a 1986 mayfair shell painted in nightfire red with custom gray matalic roof and bonet stripes!

Now for what im working on now! i will star from the beginning..........

We bought the little blue monster in 2005 the car is a 1996, 1275 spi mini sprite! it has sportspack arches! was a lovely car but needed a re-spray so i set to and painted it and it finshed up looking like this......................................



Michelle(my better half) was very pleased and loved driving it!
last november the car developed some problems:- ONE: the throttle has started to stick and this is causing the car to rev high even when hot! so we took it to a rover place and that told us one of the sensor's had failed this cost us just shy of £100 to replace, a week later still same problem! TWO: the battery now dis-charges on its own. so new battery still the car has the same problems!!!!

But the BIG problem the car had was the body work!!!!! AAARRRHHHHGGGGG!

The car had been in a slight prang at one time and had the drivers wing and the front panel changed. Badly i might add! so the wing has rubbed a lovely hole into the scuttle panel so at the end of june this year i set to and did this to it!



After removing the wings,scuttle and the A panels i found that the inner wings weren't looking to good! more work for minimad!!!!

So i set to and have now cut out the bad bits and started to weld in the new! I will say i have never welded before so im learning as i go but the first bit looks like this!



And this is where the car is at now! i have more photo's i just need to upload them as i doo i will add more plus keep the post updated with my progress! *tongue*

well i started on the driver's side inner wing and my day
didn't get off to a good start!

Always nice when the grinder pops in your hand!

Hear are a few more pics!

that's that out the way!!!

Oh look a brake disk!




Just waiting on the new panels from m-machine!!!!
Going to paint the roof tomorrow post more pics then!!!!!!

this is looking like alot of bodywork to do mate - you got the engine all sorted while you're waiting on panels?

There is some engine work to do yes but at the mo trying to get the other bits of paint work done!

the job has to be done in time for the mitp so yes a lot of body work!

as i said the roof will be painted tonight befor i go to the pub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks in a similar state to mine. I just cant find the enthusiasm to go the garage and dust is off and start all the welding *frown*

Looking good.... fun isn't it.. !! The underneath of you shock mount looks as good as my minivan....seeing as your shell is only 11 years old thats impressive.

well not much going on at the mo!got slight problems with my spray gun so the roof isn't done and the new panels have only just arrived!!!!

so a good day with the welder today and i hope to get on a lot better!
(photo's to follow)

also i have taken the head of the turbo(my car) and found that the valve guides have worn so thats why i have a smokey car! better get it fixed as they have stop smokeing in public place's.

so much fun in the minimad camp!

well im now going to start this again!!! also i need advice about carbs going to take out the spi and carb it but not sure what to go for!!!!!

a lass its time to finish this car my god its been so long since istarted it so as of the 23 of this month i will spend a full week on the little blue monster!!!!!!!!!

non gen panels and a little time to get the right thats all, im hoping to gett alle the welding work done today and get the doors fitting right! like i say more pic's tonight i hop8-)
