Help I keep loosing fuel pressure

I've recently rebuilt a turbo carb and it was ok for a few miles, I had a lo-gauge for fuel pressure under the wiper.
It was about 5-6PSI at idle which I know is high, it did rise with boost but all of a sudden it's dropped to 1PSI gradually rising to about 3 after a short idle but as soon as you drive or come close to boost it drops to almost nothing.

I?ve changed the regulator for a spare and checked the hose to the plenums hasn?t got any leaks.
Only thing I?ve noticed is my air feed pipe to the turbo has been squished a bit it?s sucking plenty so isn?t completely crush, could this be the problem?

Also I?ve got 8MM fuel lines for feed and return are they big enough or should look at replacing them both with larger ones or just the return?

What types of air feed hoses do you all use and how much are they?
I?ve only ever used the corrugated metal type stuff which either wares through or gets crushed.

Is the pump more noisy than normal?
Could be the suction pipe in the tank is blocked. I had a similar thing on mine - pressure went all over the place between 0.5 to 4 psi...

Both the front and rear fuel filters have been changed recently

the pump seems to be working as normal I'll check the pressure before the regulator

I've never checked the tank suction pipe before.
It's got to come out this week for some insurance repairs after some dosy cow reversed in to my car while it was parked, so I'll have a closser look then
