Does anyone know anything about snakes?

Unfortuanately my neighbours dog was bitten by an adder and had to be put down

Im seeking revenge with a sharp spade, but google isnt being helpful on trying to find out what sort of locations we should be looking in

No, it is illegal to kill adders. The adder is a threatened and declining species in Britain. You should not handle an adder as the bite can be painful.


Like all scum, this country protects them and stops you from doing anything about it

Is this the dog that was chasing a ball around when you were painting the mini? Awww... I can't say I have ever heard of anyone getting bit by a snake in England before.

When i used to go on Holiday down Cornwall, they used to warn us about them being in the dunes and when you take 3 springer spaniels with you its something to remember.

im not fond of snakes, but i used to love watching the late Steve Irwin.

From what i can remember Adders live in bult up areas, alleys garages etc etc. They only bite when they are hungry so why it bit a dog i dont know.

They also follow the animal they bit until it dies, then normally they eat it, so it could be worth looking in garages etc etc near where the dog died (or was bit), but be carefull.


if they bite you then you need to go up the hospipal ASAP, i also dont think there very big, certainly less then a meter long.

and your not allowed to kill it so your have to phone the RSPCA when you find it and they will remove it.......

knowing that dog he was probably looking for his ball and then started barking at it and playing with it

god only knows where it happened though, it might of been in the field that we were kicking his ball into, or over on their farm. I saw him in the morning looking rather sorry for himself near some sheds

yeah there are several hundred balls that have been lost, popped, or are now living on top of the barn, and one that i cut in half

I may leave hunting it until after avon then-i dont want to miss that
