Hi folks,

Prior to carrying out my conversion I've got hold of two T2 tubbies. On closer inspection both turbos have 3 cracks about emanating from the wastegate. I know it's a dumb question but if the impellor housing is cracked like this is it safe to say that it can't be used?

Just means that I'll have to go and find another T2 or T25 *frown* Anyone know of any going spare?

Jim

Yeah i have several T2's and a lot of them are cracked like this to.
I know my friend ran one with a few small cracks in it and it was ok , but i gues it depends how bad it is ?

Any of u guys have any scrap T2's that u dont want? If so would any of u guys consider selling me the exhaust outlet cover plate for one please as I'm trying tocarry out my turbo conversion but somehow lost that little bit.

The cover that covers over the exhaust turbine.

you mean the turbine housing or elbow?

All mine are badly cracked - too much to use...

Bear in mind there are two types - defined by PT-2 or PT-4 on the housing, and are not interchangable.

The plate that has the elbow moulded as part of it.

Its the bit held on by 5 nuts

Here's a photo which shows the part I need right here

That's what we call the elbow.

What i do is use a std 'metro' elbox, which i cut the flange off, then get a Renault elboz, and cut it up, leaving just the flange. The two are then welded together...

I don't have any spare unfortunately.
If i find some, i will grab them and let you know. Keep checking on Ebay in the meantime... Saw one on there for just ?5 the other day - but forgot about it untill it was too late!

You aren't in the UK are you... Well i'm sure that one of us helpfull guys would happily have one posted to our house, then send it on to you...
