hey fellas
got a mini that crabs, just enough to be noticable

is this being caused by wildly different camber on the rear wheels?

thanks

No, camber will not affect crabbing. Crabbing is caused by toe settings being different side-to-side.

However, if the camber is different side-to-side then it indicates something is wrong. Have you hit a curb? or is the subframe full of rot?

Does it crab or does it just appear to crab?

I say this because a mini tapers towards the rear giving the impression of crabbing when it is not.

I agree with bodgeit, i spent weeks and weeks trying to figure out why my dads mini crabbed. Then i realised it seemed to crab both ways!

If its been standing for 5 years make sure that one of the back brakes is not binding, especially if the handbrake was left on.

You cant shim it to get the right toe in. adding shims will make more toe out, it sounds like you have toe out on one of the rear wheels. i'd suggest filing out the camber bracket to correct. but check it all against tracking gauges first.
