Whilst toying over various ideas on how to get a short stroke 1l engine, I came up with the mad idea of boring out an 850 to take imp pistons. Based on my maths standard imp pistons give 980cc and +20 thou pistons give 1005cc :( I don't know if +10 thou pistons exist.

Would it not be easier to start with the 970S engine, if you can find one.

Rob, Do you want to tell us the alternative way? Regards Dave Sorry but I'm keeping shut on the mad idea I've got brewing, all I'll say is it's going to take a while. On 12th of Jul, 2007 at 09:53am Axel said:
Would it not be easier to start with the 970S engine, if you can find one. We had a discussion on the merits of high revs sometime last year. I am still of the opinion that it is far easier to get power from boost rather than revs, so why bother? I had a good read of the old posts on high reeving 1l, well what's left of the posts anyway. Boost might give more power than revs, but boost & revs gives more power still. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:
