as the item says this is not a bleed valve it is a pressure relief valve which is better because it holds the pressure to the preset value then releases it unlike a bleed valve which takes pressure from the wastegate actuator which can lead to it opening earlier than the pressure which is desired so the turbo is not working as efficiently as it should do.

from my knowledge of pneumatics this valve is speed control valve for controling pneumatic cylinders. It has adjustable flow restrictor in one direction and freeflow in the other. My opinion is that it is better than a bleed valve but not as good as a pressure relief valve for controlling the boost. Hope this helps n.g.l.

Why have I only just found out about these?

I can't see any reason why you would use a bleed valve instead of one.

I'm buying one.

There is a place in Crewe (where I live) that sells these valves for about a tenner.

I have confused myself about MBC;s can I play a what if game

Say your actuator is set to 4PSI

your MBC to 9

So off we go down the road, the mbc is closed , there is no waste gate creep and we are now approaching 9PSI
The MBC opens ... letting the Actuator open straight away l without that waste gate creep ) so the most efficiant use of that boost has just happened ....
Now

WHat happens ; I still have my foot planted to the floor

I assume that when the actuator drops of the boost the MBC closes again ,

SO

does this mean that the MBC is constantly opening and closing while you are trying to blast out full speed ahead, fluctuating between 9PSI and 8.9something PSI ?

Steve

PS I sound like I am waffling but hey ho !

When I started thinking about it, that's where I got to. one solution that I can think of is using a bleed valve in front of the MBC.

Hummm??
