hi

iv just been looking on morspeeds site to see what turbo stuff they do and i came across a high flow turbo alloy inlet manifold.

theres no pic of it but it just says High flow turbo alloy inlet £45.

would you think theres any benifit with a high flow turbo inlet? i know theres not much differnce in flow as the NA inlet compared to the turbo one, but what about a high flow turbo inlet???

what are your thoughts on this?

cheers

More flow for the same boost can only be good.

Not worth much - if anything...
The stock inlet is designed for a non-laminar flow if anything. Smoothing it out so it flows like a MG inlet for example is not neccesarilly good.

Not saying it's bad - but only spend that 45 quid after doing stg3 head, cam, hybrid turbo, mapped ignition, etc, etc, etc...

Aside from port matching, and ticking the ends, you won't get anythign more out of an exhaust manifold unless you're extrude honing.
Restriction is at the smallest point, which in an intake is the area around the valve...

...And taking that a stage further, there 's not much point hogging the exhaust ports right out and bolting a std exhaust manifold on.

also if you do get the manifold extrude honed and the had done, wht do you do for an exhaust gasket.

The standard gasket is a lot larger than the factory ports luckilly. Plenty of room for improvement! :)

Is it?

I haven't got a std head to measure one against, i thought the reinforced turbo one was only a tad bigger than an std port*blush*
