i was looking at mini pistons for the 998 whilst searching for some other pistons for my dads car

i noticed the flatop pistons upto 1986 had a C/R 9:3:1 & the same pistons (same modal number etc) from 86-92 had a C/R of 10:3:1

whats that about, do the rings have an affect, they were the same piston, both A+ where there head differances

I dont think the rings would have much to with the compression. There is a slight gap between to the top ring and the top of the piston all the way around. I always assumed it was dish and the combustion chamber.

i've just gone on the vizard book, will n bens advice + others on here axel etc to calc my C/R
which is usually cylinder bore/ head chamber size/piston dish/gasket thinkness compressed & gap between the piston top & block deck if there is one
