what cr do you think a 1293, with 15cc pistons and around 26cc chamber size would have.
i don't want exact, just a rough idea will do.
also do yo think 8.5:1 will be alright on the road to keep it drivable off boost?

about 8.3/1 depending on piston/block height

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

I ran my first turbo on 8.5 to 1, rough spec was 1275/MG metro cam,flowed head @ 10 PSI. It was very drivable and pretty rapid.

minimark could reflect his views on the drivability as it was the "cadwell" motor which i know he and his mate Neil remember.

i want to have two levels of boost, one for cruising round town/ down the shops and one for kicking ass with.
if i run an intercooler and 8.5:1 what sort of boost would be the highest i could reliably run? (i.e. for a few laps of thruxton or castle combe)

btw i will be using forged pistons and i want to spend time making the engine/ transmission as solid as possible. if that will make any difference

no exact answer to that , get RR and get them to set max boost , but go to someone who knows what there doing with fuelling and needles etc .

i want it to be powerful, drivable and reliable, so i will defo get an intercooler, i have a clubby so i may get a wide intercooler which isn't very deep or tall and make a custom box under the number plate so its in yer face and in the air flow.
intimidate some people with it :) :)
