I have a Morspeed Booster Super Squish 4 head for sale, Serial number MSPD 151.

It is the 36mm inlet and 30mm exhaust version.

I'm selling because (whatever Morspeed say) this head is NOT suitable for small bore engines, owing to the chamber shape it has a tendancy to fail head gaskets on small bore engines. It would be ideal for moderate to massive power on large bore engines.

It's has been on my hillclimber for one season and has covered no more than 200 miles.

Chambers are 27cc.

New these are £530 (check the website for spec and price http://www.morspeed.co.uk/miniheads-booster.htm )

I'm after £300 plus postage

As the pin hole is "outside" the valve seat, have it drilled and welded. I've had heads welded, and this has worked brilliantly. Cheaper to try than a new head anyway!

Also Bud, have the valve seats ground properly, and not with a 5mm wide 45degree cutter. Get some proper 3 angled ones. Seriously :)

well its the same in number 1 and number 3 so i'd guess the others aren't far behind. a mate has offered to have a try welding it up for me so i'm going to pass it on to him and see if he can salvage it. if it works then i can choose which head to use and sell on the other one, but seeing as the car is also my daily drive i need to get something sharpish :(

I see. There you have it for not using coolant you stupid English people! *wink*

All blocks and heads I've got from England have been VERY rusty on the inside. I guess an old English Mini would take an extra quart of coolant over original!
Honest :)

Vegard is right!

the amount of Imp heads I've seen that are shagged due to no antifreeze or inhibitor......

Wwhen you say small bore, do you mean stock 1275 or 998?

Also whats the best price you could do on it?

Has it killed headgaskets with you and finally, what boost would you recommend running on standard pistons?

Thanks

will h's head is a 1275 940 head that he used on his superb hillclimb car, fine for any other turbo 1275 just not his uber fast thing! pretty sure its a 940 large bore head

budd those pinholes should weld ok! now i've seen the pic i see what ya meant! weld is harder than cast iron so recut the seats as vegard say's & should be good as new!

if the other seats go when the new seats are cut weld um up n do the same, cheaper than a new head & what ya have was givin the figures!

cheers for the bits by the way, thumbs up arrrh! thats me trying to be a bit brummie! *happy* big thanks!!!!!!

What? Read the advert, it says that the head is not suitable for small bore engines e.g. 998, so therefore it is absolutely fine for a 1275 engine.
