quicky whats that tool thing called for cc head chambers i cant remeber?????

is it called a burrette or a pepette i was gonna have a look on ebay or would somewhere like cromwell tools do them?

my head is working out to be around the 26cc mark doing it with a syringe but i'm not confident in its acuracy, this gives me a 8.3.1 c/r which is a lil low but do-able, i could skim the head to bring it up

cheers

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

pipet, or sometimes called a burret

a syringe is very accurate, i can assure you

but if you want someting like i use in graduations of 0.1 cc then search for one

ML, milliliteres are correct to the last sixth decimal point to CCs

hope this helps

the syringe i'm using is "ok" it's the fact thats its difficult to draw the oil out of the head chamber, theres that last bit in the bottom i cant get, the one i have is a 50ml medical syringe with 1 ml graduations, if i can get a decent burret or pipet then i'll do so, maybe the oil i'm using is too thick

like the operator lol *tongue*

use turps and or oil mixed

why you need to remove the oil ???

fire the oil in and see how much you have in the chambers then dump it

using a peice of perspex with a 8mm hole in covering each chamber at a time
use grease to make a seal and use your finger pressure applied to make sure

hope this helps

arrrrrrrhhhh thats the way ar ha ar ha i like it ah ha a ha hehe i'll do that mr steve, mix some turps in there, i have a spare shitty cd too! right then, an acurate result for my C/R 2moz i hope :)

with 26cc chambers i worked out i'll be getting 8.3.1 which is a lil low aint it but i've put 2.5mm for the gasket & i can skim the head to correct it anymore cant i?

I think a Burette is a graduated glass cylinder with a tap at the bottom to allow fluid to flow.
A pipette is a graduated glass cylinder without a tap, fluid is allowed to flow by removing your thumb from the top of the cylinder.
A Burette will be the easiest to control and should be the most accurate.
A suitably graduated Syringe should be the next most accurate followed by a Pipette.

Dave

from my original chks i'm coming up with 8.3.1 thats with

26cc chambers
998 .20 pistons+1014cc
copper 998 gasket, i've put this at 2.5cc
standard stroke
6cc dished pistons

a lil ow really i thought

i'm re-checking the cc's of the chambers & pistons as wee spk

done my chks & its coming out at 26cc's on my head, if i wanted to raise the C/R how much would i need to skim the head to make it 8.5.1 or closer to 9-ish, or should i work with what i hae at 8.3.1, i know this seems to work on 1275 turbos ok but on a small bore, i'm planning to drive it most of the time at 8-10 psi, whats your opinions chaps, i'm nearly ready to put my head on the block but i'll hold off n get it skimmed if the genural concensus is what i have is too low!

cheers all

my payen AF copper gasket is coming out at 0.88mm when chked on all for sides

my cheapo 998 head gasket is coming out at 1.45mm on all sides, looking a lil brighter

thats brought me to around the 8.4-8.5 C/R mark
