Not a turbo question sorry, but I'm having trouble finding out what size the bolt that holds the crank pully on is.

I'm fitting megajolt and wish to put the pulley on, then a spacer, then the trigger wheel, and a longer bolt through the whole lot. Then a small bolt to keep it all lined up.

I can order in any size bolts from a local hardware shop but I want to be certain of the size before I pay for a little box.

I now know the thread on the flywheel side is whitworth, but not the pulley size. Hoping it's something easy like 9/16ths UNF!

Cheers for any help guys! Chris.

MiniSpares do a socket head pulley bolt that, for just a pulley, is normally a bit too long - minght be ideal for you?

Although I am struggling to find a 1/2" drive 1/2" allen key socket to fit my torque wrench to do the bugger up!!

I'll have a better go at seeing if the pully bolt will fit in the flywheel side soon.

That, is expensive!

Yeah, hadn't thought about finding an allen key fitting to put on a torque wrench!

And if both are the same the size is, "5/8x16 UNS is the size. "

Erm, ok, should of thought of this earlier....

They are the same size....

So, I had a look at a spare fly wheel bolt. Pully bolt on the right, flywheel on the left, it's much longer, easily long enough for what i want!

Job done I think, unless someone can think of a reason I can't use it on the other end, it screws in and that fine.

can't see any issues with it, i'd use a dab of threadlock to be safe though.

Good call, might be an idea. I'll check it as well, at least for a while. And to check other things down there like weather the crank sensor has stayed in position.

Yep, dab of good locktite as you won't get a tock tab to work too well.

Also make sure it nips down and doesn't bottom out in the end of the crank and just 'appear' tight. Try it without a washer first and if it screws up then stick a washer in and you know it won't bottom out.

The minispares bolt isn't drastically expensive, well its 1/2 the price of a standard one!!
