Is it OK to reface the tip of the valve stems? Are they surface hardened ?
I have a few sets of perfectly servicable valves other than a few scuff marks on the tip.
What do you reckon.

leeds/wakefield.

according to Paul ivey, [ rimflo valves], yes they are hardened on the tips, but i casnnot see why they could not be flashed over to clear up.it can only be a few 0.000s at most surely,

i have seen what happens when folk use long valves and cut them down to suit.
not good,

I ALWAYS reface the valve stem tip when servicing valves. Alway reface them so they are flat.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
