Hi all.
Ive just got a second hand 3.1 crownwheel and pinion.
But some teeth on the crown wheel are pitted.
Is this a problem, or would it be ok ? just need to check with u Guys.
Plus the teeth are alot thiner then my 3.4 crownwheel.
That normal i take it.
Thanks lads :)

I havn't got my cam with me, so cant take any..
A few teeth has about 2 mm pit on them. and it's only about 1mm thickness on top of the crownwheel teeth.
That normal. im changing from a 3.4 to a 3.1, coz im told it's alot better.
If it's no good, can i buy a new 3.1 crownwheel and pinion ?
Cheers.. :)

I will be nice, just don't waste everyones time including your own, to be able to give an opinion that is any use to you we need to see the damage, one persons idea of perfectly useable is quite commonly another persons idea of bollocksed.

That's not pitting - it's impact damage from something; could have happened at the manufacturing stage, or in the last transmission it saw action in.

I'd use it personally.
