but with mine you put some in.. start it up.. it then proceeds to fire it back out via the block and t-piece where the turbo oil feed, pressure switch is.

had some crap fibre washers on before so whipped them off today and replaced them with copper (have also used plumbers tape before).. bit better but still gushing out.

the car is still off road at the moment but im in the last stages and trying to get it ready for the mot and would be greatful to here what you have used to stop this?

cheers, Mark

yeh was about to say, a decent copper washer like you've got and some PTFE (plumbers tape) wraped around it.

You need an adaptor - that is a 1/8NPT male, and 1/8NPT or 1/8 BSP female.

Somet that looks like this...

http://www.mcmaster.com/param/images/irons...36kp8llarge.gif

Basically, the block is tapped 1/8 NPT, and you're trying to wind in either
1) a 1/8 BSPT Tee-piece adaptor into it
or
2) a Parralell thread banjo bolt.

1) Depending on how it was machined, this will - or will not seal properly.

2) This will seal 1% of the time, and only through pure luck. Copper washers seal against a face machined perpendicular to the thread axis. The block is NOT spotfaced. Hence, you need an adaptor.
The standard metro turbo setup with the steel hard-line to the turbo had one of these unions...

Get to your local hydraulics shop and purchase a 2 quid fitting that'll fix it properly forever.

Bosh!

Ive used a male 1/8 BSPT fitting in mine its only 1 pitch per inch different to NPT so it does the job nicely. *wink*

If you need a fitting let me know, I can send you an 1/8 BST male to male adaptor in brass. Should have the fitting Dave is on about too if you want to do it that way?

Actually I used a short 1/8 bspt male to male nipple.

I got your pm Mark, would it be possible for you to take a pic of your setup (showing which joints its leaking from), as you mentioned something about a banjo fitting?

clubminiflip I can't see there being any problem running another fitting, but obviously eventually you'd get to stage where you'd start to lose oil pressure...lol

Pics to explain what i was talking about.. matty, drop me a pm if you need any further details. The oil tends to come from the block but not the joins, so basically need what Dave suggested.
