I have just ordered a 1 metre 57mm air pipe to go from turbo to filter and now want to buy an air filter to match. I'm after a K&N filter but notice that when buying, they only specify the id of the filter neck. As the pipe clamps to the outside of the filter neck, can anybody tell me the thickness of the rubber neck bit so I can workout from the id the right size to buy.

Hope this makes sense?

Cheers
Rich

the green filter is 58mm inside Dia but the rubber is quite soft and will easily sqash over and make a perfect seal *wink*

so fit some steel pipe in there secure with jubilee clip and then place your pipe over that and secure

ding dang dong ....... done! *wink*

no sweat

I don't personally trust any sponge / foam filter... I'll always pick a K&N.

I don't see how a foam filter can filter at all, some of them you can see through! Cotton gauze and oil is what you want.

Usually I would agree, but the DON has a foam ITG filter on, it really is a good bit of kit.

Well, any filter is better than none - and I'm sure Avonbar wouldn't sell junk.

Way I see it is there is clear potential for a path through the maze of holes from one side t'other... An oiled Gauze doesn't encourage that. It does need VERY regular maintenance of course...

Entirely up to you. Rest assured - if you buy one, your engine will last longer than if you don't use one.
