Hi

I have a MK1 MG metro turbo that im restoring.

The engine has done 65k miles and im thinking of rebuilding it soon, as the bores are abit scored and its abit noisy.

I was going to bore it +20 to 1293, check the gearbox and re-built it if necessary, check the T3 turbo and re-con that and replace any bearings, seals etc that need replacing.

I was thinking about tuning it up abit too by putting on a better head, cams etc. But as im new to turbo a-series engines (know lots about tuning non-turbo ones) i wasnt sure what mods i should do etc.

What spec would be good for around 120 bhp? I am willing to spend a fair amount on it.

I was thinking of a medium boost/medium c/r set-up?

Thanks

if you do nothing else, get an intercooler, bleed valve and boost gauge. also modify the plenum to allow more boost(fit the montego turbo plenum safety spring or block the hole).

search for these items and read up. then ask some more detailed questions and you will receive all the help you need.
