Well I finally got round to stripping my clutch down today.. been havin a couple of issues with full engagement of gears so I needed to go and have a look see..
So I checked the usual.. Master and slave cylinder and both are fine...

Proceeded to strip the clutch in Flywheel out and all appeared ok?*indifferent* faace of the flywkeel was a bit worn.. but couldnt be the answer to the problem I was having

I was only about to post a thread for a bit of help from trusty old TM when stripping down the bell housing I found this!

The little bugger*surprised*...
Any body else had this problem?

Cheers Alex.. Ill stick that down as another point to be greased regularley.. TBH I never thought of it as Ive only done about 300miles in her since the engine went in and it was greased up on rebuild... must have missed it as Id say it was already well worn!!

Looking at you clutch plate it looks a bit like one i took out recently. the outer part of the friction material has worn as you would expect but the inner part is like new. mine had done a couple of thousand miles so had a bit more wear.
still no idea why though.

the MS one i bought seems to be a bit more heavy duty than the std ones i've seen, course it could just be the std ones were all worn away...

Maybe its worth getting the arm treated if running a grey or harder? any thoughts on this?

also i had the idea of bunging a grease nipple on the wok so you can just grease this point in situ. yet to try it though.

Grease nipple good idea in principle, however I think it would be difficult to do it in a way that ensures the grease doesn't find its way into the clutch itself.....

Good point,

I was thinking of placing the nipple 180 deg to the clutch arm so it squirts right at the joint. As long as you dont just mindlessly pump grease in this should be ok.

just have to see if you can get a nipple in that position AND get a rease gun on it.

also my wok has so many holes in it you'd be able to se if ther was too much grease lol.

Mines the exact same, like swiss cheese*happy* ...
well I ordered a replacement clutch arm and plunger this morning... hopefully have em in the next 2days!

I think a grease nipple would be a good idea if mounted correctly*wink*
