Raced at Lyden Hill down near Dover yesterday(Sat 28th).

Went out and qualified, never realy got any good laps in due to a class B car loosing a sump plug and leaving a half metre wide trail around the who circuit.

Got a few fair laps in and qualified 3rd on grid.

In the paddock by chance I parked up right opposite Bill Richards with his 2 awsome 8 porters all trailered up.

All we do not realy know each other we have had some great "dabbles" at the Mini day at Combe, him in the 8 port racer and myself in MOT.

He was glad to see me racing and showed great interest in the ex Challenge cars.

He instructs at this circuit and insisted we got a circuit diagram to talk me through the lines.

He spent a good 20 mins giving advice and tips on the best lines, braking points etc.

I took his advice and felt the car realy working for me during the race.

After a battle I finnished in 2nd, Paul luti won the race and bagged the lap record at 50.236, my best lap was 50.276 so only 4 100ths of a second in it!1. The next fastest lap was 51.222.

Bill Richards, top bloke who knows his onions.

He does sound cool, well done on your result! I take it you got the damage from the last race fixed then.
